As of Monday 5th January, Gavin has left his role as Club Development Officer of the rugby club and looks forward to 3 months of Police Scotland College. The club would like to thank Gavin for his services and wish him well on his new career path. We look forward to welcoming Gavin back to the club when he has time to do so moving forward.
John Gunderson from the Reach to Rugby Trust posted on the following statement:
“With regret the Forrester React 2 Rugby Trustees say farewell to Gavin Sisson our Community Development Officer (CDO) for more than four years. Gavin has decided to hang up his rugby whistle and become a police officer. During his spell as CDO he has willingly undertaken a multitude of tasks and become a very popular CDO at all the schools where he was coaching.
He has grown the game in our area encouraging lots of girls and boys to come along to the Club and see what the game and the Club offers.
We know it was a big decision to move jobs and the Trustees wish him well as he strives to prevent crime and detect baddies.
Gavin has come right through the Forrester set up, from being taught at school by Bill Smith, joining the youth section and ultimately playing senior rugby. In between times he has gone to College and gained his sports qualifications.”
Club Captain & Club Sectary – Garry Smith also passed his thanks to Gavin
“I would like to thank Gavin for his work and commitment he has given to Forrester RFC over the last few years and his drive to improve and develop the youth section of the club. We have seen a number of guys move up from our under 16s and under18s in the Senior fold at the club and this is no doubt down to the hard work Gavin, along with the various coaches at each team have put in.’’
“All the guys in the playing squads from 1st XV right down to the Mini and Midi section would like to wish Gav all the best in his new career path and we look forward to seeing him fighting crime in Edinburgh.”
Club President – Derek Panther also added the following comments thanking Gavin for his services
“As most of you are aware Gavin is leaving his post as CDO to further his career with Police Scotland.
On behalf of the club I would like to thank Gavin for all his work as Development Officer for the Club, working with the Youth Section and his role within the General Committee.
Although over the next few weeks Gavin will be focused on his training we wish him well and I am sure will be down at the club when time permits”
Looking forward with Gavin now gone, Bill Smith & Michael Elder will be covering his work for the foreseeable future until another development officer can be confirmed into place. Please find below their details for contacting them if needed.
