Position: Head Coach for 1st XV senior men’s team (voluntary role)

League: East Division 2

Forrester Rugby Club are seeking a new Head Coach for our men’s senior rugby to develop the senior rugby style and achieve our goal of playing national rugby. The club have an ambitious set of players with the 1st XV currently competing in BT East Regional Division 2 but aspiring to be promoted to East Regional Division 1 at the end of this season.

Forrester Rugby Club, established in 1964, is a proud member of the Scottish Rugby Union. Located in South Gyle, Edinburgh, we are a friendly and welcoming club that caters to all age groups, including 1st XV, Over 35s, Mixed Touch, Youth, and Minis. We are committed to fostering a love for rugby, developing talent, and creating a strong sense of community.
Role Overview:
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Head Coach to join our team. As the Head Coach, you will play a vital role in mentoring players, planning training sessions, and promoting teamwork and sportsmanship.
Responsibilities:
- Lead and organise training sessions for players. (Tuesday & Thursday evenings).
- Management of the 1st XV on a Saturday.
- Develop strategies to enhance player performance and team cohesion.
- Ensure player safety and adherence to rugby rules.
- Assist with recruitment of players.
- Collaborate with the Director of Rugby and Executive Committee members to achieve team and club goals.
- Uphold the values of the club.

Requirements:
- Coaching certification UKCC Level 2 (essential) UKCC Level 3 (desirable).
- Experience of coaching senior rugby.
- Knowledge of rugby rules and coaching techniques.
- Strong communication and leadership skills.
- Enthusiasm for rugby and community engagement.
