Forrester defend the fortress with a 50 pointer

Thanks to Forbesy for the match report

As three o’clock arrived the pitch was perfect (after some pre match rabbit hole filling) and the sun was shining.
Forrester kicked off towards the road end and straight from kick off gave away a penalty for and over eager challenge on the man in the air, not the greatest start. Forrester soon settled in to the game and were putting good passages of play together. After 5 mins the Forrester captain Garry Smith had to leave the field after picking up a back injury after lifting in a lineout and was replaced with Johnny Mac.
Forrester had the 1st chance to open the scoring in the 7th minute with a long range penalty attempt by Fraser Newbury but the ball didn’t have enough weight behind it (hard to believe I know) and fell just short of the posts. The home side didn’t have to wait much longer thought with a try from Alan Panther converted by Newbury. 7-0
Edinburgh Northern added points of their own after off side from the home side gave the visitors a penalty which was converted making the score 7-3 Northern again put pressure on the home side and were awarded another penalty which was kicked again making the score 7-6.
Forrester got the discipline under control and started to put some solid phases of play together and were rewarded when center Seva Tolutinikaono crossed the line for the 2nd try of the day, covered by Newbury 14-6.
Forrester took control of the game and put a lot of pressure on Northern which let to them being camped in the Northern 22. The dominant play was finally rewarded with Paddy Bree picking and making the massive 5 yard burst flattening a Northern defender on the way and crossing the line for the 3rd try of the day, converted again by Newbury 21-6.
Forrester continued to dominate and added another try through super sub Johnny Mac again converted by Newbury 28-6. Unfortunately the ending of the 1st half was not all good a center Seva Tolutinikaono picked up a team card after being deemed to pull a tacking player back.

HT 28-6

Forrester made a few changes at Half time with Lucas Buxton replacing Gav Sisson and Callum Aitken replacing Colin Gordon. Forrester didn’t have to wait long to add another try with Alan Panther picking up his second of the afternoon and Foresters 5th again converted by Newbury taking the score to 35-6.
Forrester seemed to have stepped up a gear and cutting the Northern defense apart with some great link up play with another try being the result this time with Mark Wyper crossing the line and converted by Newbury making the score 42-6.
Forrester unloaded the bench with some changes with Aidan Beveridge being replaced by Daniel Marr also giving 1st team debuts to David Leiper, Ritchie Gray and Kevin Robertson replacing Fraser Newbury, Mark Wyper and Stewart Fulton respectively.
Forrester continued to set the pace but some basic mistakes caused it to take another 10 minutes to add to the score line this time with Johnny Mac making a 30 yard run breaking 4 or 5 tackles and crossing the line for his 2nd try of the day, with Newbury off the field Leiper took the kick but was unable to add the extra 2 points. 47-6
Forrester picked up another silly yellow card this time for Alan Panther but this didn’t stop them adding a last try via a swan dive from Seva Tolutinikaono this time converted by Leiper making the score 54-6.
With the game drawing to a close Northern picked up a yellow card for an early tackle so both teams finished the game with 14 men.

Final Score 54-6
