Thanks to Gary Joss for the report!

FEW MISSED CHANCES COST FORRESTER THE GAME!!

Forrester can hold their heads up high after they were narrowly beating by St Boswells. There was a massive buzz about the clubhouse and especially in the dressing room minutes before the game as Paddy Bree and Garry Smith gave a goosepimply raising chat before they marched out onto the pitch.

For the first 20 to 25 minutes the game was stale mate with both teams not giving anything away. But it was Forrester absolute domination of the scrums which was causing alot of chat on the side line, 1 spectator quoted saying "F**K Me I’ve never seen a scrum get so dominated in a game so many times before!"
This was causing St Boswells to get a little frustrated and giving Forrester penalties, within kicking range for Fraser Newbury to plant over, however he mustn’t of had his Ready Break as 3 times he missed the target in the first half.
This gave the opportunity for Boswells to score a try close to the first half whistle to put them in the lead after a rush of blood in defence we created a dog leg and their 10 managed to weave his way through for a converted score.
The first half had its moment of madness with both teams coming to blows as Gavin Sisson tackled one of their boys into touch. He then proceeded to spit his dummy out and lashing out which caused 20 man brawl, and Dave Allan AKA Fish picking one of the smallest guys on the park and tossing him into next week!

The first half came to an end with Forrester just behind and the boys still buzzing raring to go for the second half!!! Lots and lots of positivity came from Paddy Bree, Garry Smith & Craig Morrison in the huddle and the guys re-group and got back into the second half.
The second half kicked off and Sean Broadfoot planted a massive kick down in to their 22. It let the 15 run it straight back at us, put a chip in and collect it letting him run into Forrester 22, unfortunately for the St Boswell outfit could not break through the Forrester wall in the end!!

The 50th minute came the breakthrough for Forrester as again Boswells gave away another penalty which let Alan Panther put the ball into the corner for a lineout, and the sheer power and dominance of the pack put Bev Jnr over the line!! Unfortunately Fraser Newbury could not convert!

In the 72nd minute of the game Forrester were putting Boswells under alot of pressure again! Alan Panther got the ball, kicked what everyone thought was the worst cross field kick ever, turned out to be the best as Ryan Inglis straight of the plane from Mexico and probably still hangover from all the tequila he had been drinking managed to find some pace on the wing and chase that kick down, juggled it a little bit before touching it down. Again another missed chance from the boot, this time by Alan Panther.

One sour note for the mighty Green Machine was John McMillian sin binning for not using arms on the 9 after a scrum with about 8 mins to go! This made the task of coming back from a 6 point deficit harder than it should have been, but these things happen and the Greenies got on with it.

Final lineout of the game was into the Boswells 22, but unfortunately Daniel Marr over threw the ball and Boswells 7 cleaned it up. Ref called a scrum and they manage to get the ball back in a 8 on 7 scrum as John was in the sin bin and kick it out. Game over!

Final Score at Fortress Forries

Crowd - 126 & a few dogs.
