Wind swept and interesting
Forrester lined up playing downhill on a cold and windy day at Inverleith park. It didn't take long for Forrester to open the scoring after Alan Panther charged down a clearance kick in the 1st min and picked up and crossed the line, Newbs slotted over the conversation to make it 7-0 to the greens.

It took until the 12th min before the next real chance for either team again it was Alan Panther who was at the heart breaking between two Northern players and approaching the 22 when chipped over the full back only to be taken out with a no arms challenge by the last man. The referee made no hesitation in blowing the whistle but left the travelling support and players confused when he only awarded the penalty and no card was given. Newbs stepped up to slot over and took the score to 10-0 to the greens. On the 19th min Forrester added another 3 points when Northern gave away a penalty for hands in the ruck and Newbs again kicked with ease making the score 13-0.

It was Northern who got the next points after a poor clearance kick from Forrester landed in the middle of the park and Northern moved the ball wide and some poor defending from Forrester saw the home side cross the line and convert on the 25th min to make the score 13-7 to Forrester.

With some harsh words under the posts Forrester seemed to come out the traps from the restart and put some good pressure on the home side which led to a scrum just on the 22. Forrester turned on the scrum that we have become so used to seeing all season and drove the home side back 10 yards before the ball was picked and passed through a few sets of hands for Newbs to cross the line, he was unable to add the extra 2 but score now stood Forrester 18 Northern 7. The rest of the half passed without anything major to report.

Forrester started the 2nd half with a bang and added a try on the 42nd min from Jordan Kay after some well worked play for the greens. Newbs unable to convert score now 23-7. With Forrester now playing up hill and in to the strong wind it was time to rest some tired legs and Johnny Mac replaced Big C on the 44th min.

The change seemed to be what was needed and the Forrester pack dominated the home scrum driving forward so fast that number 8 Paddy Bree was struggling to keep up! The ball moved wide and PJ crossed the line to add another 5 points and also the bonus point for the visitors. Conversion missed by Newbs score now 28-7.

As the 2nd half went on Forrester held a strong defence when camped in their own 22 for long periods due to the howling wind fresh legs were added to help this with Ryan Inglis replacing Craig Morrison and Buddha replacing Aidan.

The strong defence continued until the 67th min when PJ got caught in two minds and ended up getting bounced by the Northern number 3 which broke the line and ended with a score. Forrester 28 Northern 12.

Forrester made another change with Daniel Park coming off for Neilly but returning to the field 6 mins later to replace Alan Panther. As the game drew to an end Forrester added another try in the 74th min scored by Newbs who also converted taking the score to 35-12. The last few moments of the games had little to report and the final score was Forrester 35 Northern 12.
