Forrester score 5 in final home game of the season.
The game got under way on what was a chilly afternoon in Edinburgh.
After 7 minutes the home side found themselves knocking on the ball on it the Inverleith 22 leading to a scrum to the visitors 10yrds out. Forrester saw that they put the knock on right when they turned the scrum over then drove the visitors back over their own try line to take the 1st score of the game. Scored by Himbo conversion by Newbs.
The game continued with a few flair ups but nothing really to report until the 20th minute the referee decided that something was wrong when an Inverleith player tackled Jordon out of play, both players got straight back to their feet and returned to the pitch but the referee must have saw something that no one else did as decided that both should be shown a Yellow card. Both players left the pitch looking confused.
On the 22nd minute Forrester added to the score after some quick play off back of a scrum which saw some good link up play before Captain Horse crossing the link scoring the try. Conversion by Newbs.
The rest of the half passed without much to report making the half time score 14-0
The 2nd half got under way with no changes made for the home side and it didn’t take long for them to extend the lead. Forrester won a line-out just inside the Inverleith 22, after winning the line-out and setting up a maul Forrester powered across the line it with Inverleith defence helpless, Try Scored by Spoogie Conversion missed by Newbs. 21-0.
In the 52nd minute Inverleith showed that they had not given up and after some tight forward play crossed the line and converted to make the score 21-7
Forrester decided it was time to rest some tired legs and made a few changes J Mac and Dudge off with Inglis and Jnr coming on.
On the 67th minute Forrester scored what has come to be a standard forward try with another catch and drive from the 22 and by the time they crossed the line almost running for Newbs to score. Cleary Newbs had used up all his energy as was unable to convert. 26-7 and Bouns point in the bag.
Forrester took this opportunity to make some more changes with Clazo, Fulton and Newbs being replaced by Big C, Lucas and J Mac.
Again Inverleith showed that they were not finished and were awarded a few penalties in the Forrester 22, Forrester maybe lucky for no one to see a yellow card for giving them away in this area. The visitors finally managed to cross the line in the 70th minute after taking a penalty from 3yrd’s out and crossing the line (yes 3rds out not 5) try was converted making the score 26-14.
In the 77th minute after some scrappy play in the mid field PJ kick the ball in behind the Inverleith defence and collected crossing the line. Conversion by Neilly making the score 31-14
