Due to the regular pitch being under repair, our game moved over to the small school pitch across the road from the EN clubhouse.

Forrester had a slow start, trying to get a feel for the game, unfortunately taking about 60 minutes to get their act together.
EN played a great offload game, keeping the ball alive and the Greenies on the back foot. Fortunately, 5 minutes into the game, a penalty to Forrester seen Neil Robertson put the Mighty Greens 3 points ahead.

With a few more phases after the restart the ball was up and down the park with both teams trying to gain the yards. Poor tackling from Forrester meant EN went ahead with a converted Try.

Edinburgh Northern 7 – Forrester 3

Forrester restart and put big pressure on EN causing them to knock the ball on. With the ball back in hand Forrester attacked with a few great phases up the park. After some great offloading and support play, Neil Robertson touched the ball down and converted his own Try.

After the restart, a poor decision from the ref regarding ‘retaliation’ during a ruck seen Forrester go down to 14 men for 10 minutes. With EN somehow managing to keep the instigator on the pitch...

Following a few dropped balls and phases of play about the park from both teams EN gave away a penalty which Neil Robertson slotted between the posts to draw the game.

Another poor decision came when a Green tackling player was sin binned from the pitch whilst grabbing some meat and 2 veg by accident in a tackle. An honest mistake, but unfortunately put the Greenies down to 14 men again.

EN exploited this to run in 2 tries (one converted) and a penalty with the Greenies a man down and poor tackling.

Half Time Edinburgh Northern 22 – Forrester 13

Heads were down and the Greenies didn’t pick up their game. With handling errors and kicking the ball away gave us little possession. EN on form with their offloading game, enabled them to 3 more tries (one converted) throughout the 40 minutes.
