On a cold, crisp, sunny day conditions were perfect for running rugby.
After last week’s defeat in the borders, Forrester were looking forward to fighting for a Bonus Point win against a young Ross High team. Expectations were high & Forrester did not disappoint the crowd & duly delivered.
From the kick-off Forrester showed their willingness to run the ball at every opportunity with backs & forwards being involved with some great off loading of the ball. Phases came together throughout the half and before long the Try count began with Ryan Inglis touching down over the line.
With the Greenies retaining the ball and shipping it all over the park, the Ross High front row knew they were in for a long day.
The bonus point try was reached 20 minutes in with tries from Seva, Robbie and Craig W. Alan Panther kicking 2 conversions.
The mighty Greens continued to dominate with another 3 scores coming from PJ, Alan & Seva again. Alan Panther kicked all 3 conversions.
The second half started much the same as the first even with a raft of substitutions it did not blunt the cutting edge of the Forrester attack.
The next 20 minutes seen Brodie, PJ cross the line and Seva completed his hat-trick as well as scoring his 4th Try. Alan converted 3 out of 4.
With the win in the bag and the massive work rate to keep the score line increasing took it toll on the Greenies as we soon came off the boil, Ross High took advantage and retained the ball almost crossing the Forrester try line. The Greenies kept their discipline and waited patiently to steal the ball and send back down the park.
Forrester picked up the pace for the final 10 mintes seeing Ewan Cameron and Himbo, Craig Morrison, touch down over the line. Alan converted another one.
The Forrester Green Machine are hungry for another win next week as we start the 2nd half of the season with the arrival of the "mighty " Quinns from the borders.
