With a quick pitch tidy and removal of some dog mess it was game on. A 12pm KO due to the International at 2.30 meant an earlier meet time for the lads.
Another week passes for the 2XV without a league game the coaches decided to take a squad of 22 again, hopeful to give everybody a game.
Early into the game we could see that if the basics were used the Mighty Greens would be able to take a few points off Lismore.
Simple set piece moves and accurate passes kept the greenies on the front foot playing most of the rugby in the Lismore half.
A chip over the top from Alan Panther seen winger Neil Robertson finish it off with a score in the corner, unfortunately Robertson just missing the conversion.
More offloading & hard running from the Green Machine seen Carl Trahms touchdown with the conversion kicked by Robertson.
Much of the half had seen Forrester in possession, attacking hard and retaining the ball. As last week we seemed to have the problem of getting over the line and finishing the attack.
Half Time – Forrester 12 – Lismore 0
3 minutes into the second half and Forrester are all over the opposition with a great attack which seen Panther touchdown, the conversion missed.
Minutes later Ryan Inglis touched down with Robertson converting. Forrester now destroying Lismore’s defence, now with no bother getting over the line.
60 minutes in and its subs galore seeing the full 22 players used.
Pietro ‘Junior’ Crolla, Stephen Delehunt, Neil Robertson (2nd), and Craig Morrison all join the score board.
Robertson converted two of the tries, and Morrison claiming Man of the Match with another outstanding performance.
